A Short Introduction

Speedibake specializes in making own label baked goods for retail and foodservice customers.  We operate from two bakeries in Yorkshire.  Over the course of the year, these employ some 600 full time equivalent people, who produce an average of 900 tonnes of baked goods every week.

Our Wakefield Site

Wakefield specializes in doughnuts, sandwich baguettes and stone baked bread lines.  These include ciabatta, focaccia, rustic rolls and tear & share among others. 

The site is designed for scale and consistency.  To use the old adage, "if laid side by side", then our doughnuts would stretch to Johannesburg, South Africa (and back).  That's 5600 miles away!  We have become very good at making doughnuts - we've made so many - and yet we check that every one is correctly filled, by X-raying it.

Our stonebaked breads are baked on volcanic rock from the Pyrenees.  This gives a better heat transfer to the dough for artisan style result.  It is also a beneficial selling claim for our customers.

Sandwich baguettes are baked on "Gouet" manufactured production lines.  These are French made and produce a baguette with a pointed end, typically associated with artisanal bakeries in France. 

Our Bradford Site

This site covers over 13 acres and has seven separate manufacturing lines.  It specializes in US
style muffins, garlic bread, baguettes and petit pains.

We believe we have the pre-eminent muffin production facility in Europe.  We offer a wide choice of sizes, varieties, shapes and packaging formats, yet our focus on efficiency means great affordability.  For examples of the product types available, browse our foodservice range.

"Gouet" and "Mecatherm" production lines are operated at Bradford, giving customers a choice of sandwich baguette shape.  We offer flexibility in size from petit pain to 26" baguettes. 

The Mecatherm is also used to produce bread for our garlic range, which can be ready sliced or as a baguette, with a choice of butter, margarine or a blended garlic filling to meet your needs.

Patak's Naan Bread Site

The Patak's Naan Bread site at Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, is the UK's only speciality bread factory with volcanic rock stone plated ovens. These are as close as you can get to a giant tandoor oven.

The site has nearly 20 years experience in making naan and offers a choice of plain, flavoured and filled products. In addition, we produce chapattis, Indian wraps and speciality flatbreads. In total some 43 million breads are dispatched to customers every year
